The $125 special includes the first three cylinders (keyholes). A deadbolt and a keyed doorknob are two separate locks. Every additional lock above three is $25 each. Four keys are included in the rekey.
Rekey, or rekeying, is the process of changing the pin combination inside of a lock to a new randomized key. Rekeying is far less expensive and does not require purchasing new hardware.
Master keying is the process of creating an organized and controlled mapping of keys to doors, in turn, creating an access control system (also called a master key system). It is used mainly with commercial locks but is sometimes used with residential.
Master key systems DO NOT increase security; in fact, they decrease security. They are simply for controlling access to specific doors and areas.
Commercial Example: You are a business owner with a shop that has locks on the front door, the back door, and your personal office. Say you have employees, and you want them to have access to the shop's back door but not your personal office or the front door. With a master key system, we can make sure you (as the business owner) have access to every door, including your personal office, whereas employees will only have keys that work the back door and not your personal office or front door. Your keys are stamped with numbers which gives you the ability to track keys given to your employees. And if you have to dismiss an employee, you need to rekey only the back door, saving you money and time.
Residential Example: Family, neighbors, or home services (housekeeping, landscaping) will have access only to a specific entrance door. As the homeowner, you'll have one key that works every lock. If someone loses a key to that specific door, you'll have to rekey only that door instead of the entire home, again, which saves you time and money.

We are sometimes able to rekey certain sliding glass doors, depending on the type of key and whether it is in good condition. However, we do not repair or install new sliding glass door locks. We recommend contacting a sliding glass door company for that service.
We will rekey, repair, or replace locks on metal entrance gates. However, we do not fix door alignment issues, which is often the case with a malfunctioning metal gate lock.
